SWFL Airport Direct Connect Route Opens

It just got a little easier to get to Southwest Florida International Airport in Ft. Myers! The new direct connect route which gets you directly to the airport from I-75, opened Friday morning, March 6, for business. The $54 million construction project funded by the state was completed in 2 years. It is expected to ease congestion on the airport feeder roads which include Daniels Parkway, Alico Road and Treeline Avenue. This new route opened just in time, as March is the busiest month for airport traffic. Last year SWFL International Airport brought over 7 million travelers to our area. Happy traveling!
